Cookshop , a long-standing neighborhood favorite committed to seasonal and locally produced food, is looking for an ambitious, hard-working, and passionate Executive Sous Chef .
Cookshop is an urban restaurant that draws energy and vitality from its commitment to honoring the seasons and using the products of regional farming. We serve lunch, dinner and brunch.
Cookshop is part of The Bowery Group, responsible for neighborhood favorites Rosie’s, Shuka, Shukette and Vic’s. Cookshop has been and continues to be a vital element in this equation. So, when we talk of seasonal and local it is more than a passing fancy that sounds good on a menu. It supports our birthright as a varied people standing in contrast to the effects of industrial food production, which disregard the health of our bodies and our land.
The Executive Sous Chef should have solid leadership skills, a highly developed sense of urgency, and the ability to work well under pressure while managing others. The successful candidate will be a responsible team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ESC is expected to effectively handle multiple tasks in a composed, friendly and hospitable manner and have the speed and skill to manage the fast-pace of our restaurant .
